Our Vision
Creating a scalable model for financially and ecologically sustainable schools across Africa
Transcendental Meditation for academic performance
African children thrive in accelerated learning environments, and TM provides the fertilizer for enhanced brainpower and enhanced learning. All children within our system meditate twice daily, without exception. This maximizes their prospects for success.
Sustainable construction
Our school buildings reduce carbon emissions: each school construction site reduces global carbon emissions by 38 regular vehicles operating for a full year. We use handmade bricks which are twice as durable as conventional bricks. These create employment, reduce emissions, and enhance the beauty of our schools. Win-win-win-win!
Sustainable school finances and growth
Our business model is based on stability, progress, and growth. We attract working-class parents and families who are willing and able to maintain an ongoing payment plan for their children’s tuition. Delinquent tuition payments are a widespread and significant burden on African schools. We aim to optimize our business model so that we will not only thrive, but we will expand and create new schools in neighbouring villages and countries.
Organic agriculture and school nutrition
Regional malnutrition rates are at 20% of all children. We have begun cultivating an organic moringa plot which can provide (in just 2 servings per day) over 90 % of recommended daily requirements in 14 essential vitamins and minerals. Our children are involved in the cultivation and tending of these moringa trees and learn hands-on the value of superfood crop cultivation.
Computer science instruction
We aim to leapfrog several development steps on our path to modernizing education in Africa. We now have a Computer Science Club with ongoing instruction, and we intend to expand this program into our regular academic offerings. We want to attract motivated high achievers, and we intend to expand our student’s horizons and potential in the wider world.
